It was released as pre-construction sales got underway, ahead of a planned spring 2023 delivery, and it presents the Flats together with the church conversion next door as one combined Chestnut Street offering.
The Chelsea Flats is the brand-new building of the pair; the Chelsea Cathedral at 163 is the adaptive reuse of the Gothic church, with sixteen homes. Across the development the residences are two-bedroom, two-bath layouts from 904 to 1,786 square feet, with GE Profile stainless appliances and quartz counters, in-unit laundry, custom-tile baths, an elevator and a video intercom. Each home carries one deeded parking space — garage parking at 157 — and the two buildings share a common roof deck and media room.
The development’s floor-plan post records six lottery homes alongside twenty-four market-rate homes across the two buildings, with the lottery held in November 2022. Jeffrey Bowen’s register records the Chelsea Flats condos selling through the spring of 2024. The Flats and the Cathedral remain the largest church-conversion project in his Chelsea record.
