This October 2010 tour presents Unit 223 at Porter 156, the loft Jeffrey Bowen was offering for rent at 156 Porter Street in East Boston. In about three and a half minutes it shows the home as renters saw it that fall, inside a building his written post described as safe, secure and very well managed.
Porter 156 holds 216 lofts, each one different, converted from a former bra factory in Jeffries Point. Residents share deeded parking, a common roof deck and a community room with free Wi-Fi, and the building sits one stop from downtown on the Blue Line — the combination that made these East Boston lofts a rental staple of Bowen’s early video record.
The unit’s original post notes the loft was rented soon after, while Bowen was showing several Porter 156 homes at once across the building’s levels.
