Published in May 2011, this tour shows Unit 236 at Porter 156 as Jeffrey Bowen offered it: a furnished loft for rent, available immediately. Furnished offerings were a smaller, corporate-facing corner of his East Boston rental work, and the film presents the home as a move-in-ready package rather than an empty shell.
The building’s lofts of this period share a known kit of features, and Unit 236’s own description names them: bamboo floors, central air conditioning, deeded parking, high ceilings and large windows. Porter 156 itself was described at the time as impeccably maintained and managed — 216 converted lofts in Jeffries Point, on the Blue Line and two stops from downtown Boston.
Bowen predicted in the listing that the loft would rent within a week, and Porter 156’s furnished homes generally moved at that pace. Unit 236 later appears in his register as a 2016 sale under another chapter of the building’s history; this 2011 film preserves its furnished-rental moment, one of the few of its kind in his video library.
