This combined tour, published August 31, 2022, covers both Chestnut Street buildings in a single walkthrough. Its centrepiece is a bi-level home of 1,549 square feet with two bedrooms and two full baths, high ceilings and preserved hardwood floors — the character piece of the church-conversion side of the development.
The development pairs an adaptive reuse of a Gothic-style church at 163 Chestnut — the Chelsea Cathedral, with sixteen homes — with a brand-new construction building at 157 Chestnut, the Chelsea Flats, with fourteen condos. Kitchens carry GE Profile stainless appliances and quartz counters, with in-unit laundry and energy-efficient heating and air conditioning throughout. Bathrooms feature custom tile, a six-foot tub, floating vanities and backlit LED mirrors, and the buildings share a video intercom system, an elevator, one deeded parking space per home, a common roof deck and media room, and a pet-friendly policy.
The two buildings were marketed together from Chestnut Street in Chelsea, with occupancy planned for late spring 2023. Across the development, the floor-plan post records six lottery units alongside twenty-four market-rate units, with applications handled through the project lottery site. It remains the largest church-conversion project in Jeffrey Bowen’s Chelsea record, following his earlier Thomas Martin Lofts conversion.
