58 Eleanor Street Unit 1, Chelsea, MA 02150 — Video Tour

58 Eleanor Street Unit 1, Chelsea, MA 02150 · Soldiers Hill

Published on October 11, 2013, this three-minute video tours Unit 1 at 58 Eleanor Street — one of four condominiums created in a top-to-bottom renovation on Soldiers Hill. The four homes were launched together that weekend, with a wine-and-cheese preview on the Saturday and an open house on the Sunday, and each unit received its own video.

The project kept the turn-of-the-twentieth-century character of the house and rebuilt everything behind it — the marketing promised the renovation would raise the bar for condos in Chelsea. Unit 1’s distinguishing features were its two garage spaces and a walk-in closet the listing singled out as rare for a Chelsea condo. Jeffrey Bowen’s register records all four Eleanor Street condos selling in the final quarter of 2013.

Eleanor Street climbs Soldiers Hill, one of Chelsea’s most sought-after residential enclaves, a neighbourhood of large older houses above the city. A four-condo conversion of a single hill house is the Soldiers Hill pattern in miniature, and this 2013 set of four unit videos is among the earliest complete multi-unit tours in Jeffrey Bowen’s video library.
