This 47-second video, published April 1, 2015, is the earliest of three tours of Spencer Lofts Unit 214 — and it is not a sales walkthrough but a design showcase. Jeffrey Bowen’s one-line verdict in the original description says it plainly: this Spencer Loft was the best designed loft he had seen at Spencer Lofts.
The unit was the home of interior designer and artist Kenneth Denny, and the post that first carried this video preserves the loft as a gallery of its interiors — street-art wallpaper, a wood island bar in the kitchen, gallery walls of paintings, a platform bed under pop art, and the factory’s tall industrial windows throughout. The post also prints the unit’s later sold record, MLS #72214877, the number under which Unit 214 sold in its 2017 marketing run.
The Spencer Lofts at 60 Dudley Street — 100 lofts converted from the Buster Brown shoe factory in 2004 — drew artists and designers from the start, and Unit 214’s 2015 film is the record of that creative peak. The loft returned to video in 2017 and again in 2021, each time in different hands and different dress, all three tours preserved in this library.
